Rethinking Identity
"Then there were none" is a documentary about Hawaiians and their declining culture. It described various historical events and how these events have caused their reduction in population. However, the internet has brought hawaiians closer to their ansestors by giving them access to what was taken away. For example, in 1898 the native Hawaiian language was banned from schools and replaced with the official english language. Then internet allowed hawaiians to research their original cutlure befoe it was changed. Through the internet we are led to believe that Hawaii completes our fifty United States of America. When in reality, Hawaii is actually fighting to individualize themselves as their own country. The internet has changed many beliefs in so many ways, but has also advanced technology significantly. If we are basing the majority of our education off of the internet, I can only imagine what will be created next.

I think it is interesting to sit back and think what is next for technology and how it will effect us all. For many, the internet has effected many people's beliefs on things. (Example: Our belief and views on religion, and Chris Brown even) Overall, I think it is a good thing that the internet has allowed hawaiian's to research their original culture.
